Improving skills, most often, is the result of training them through frequency and repetition, this is your practice-time and coaching in your sport. Athleticism, for greater results in your sport, can also grow through training; like gaining quickness, power, agility, endurance, mobility, flexibility and more. What we share are key factors which improve BOTH! And, they are commonly overlooked or under-utilized.
Make the time to know this fundamental to the best athletic results!
The more the athlete can know about how their body works, the more they can bring their mind into the effectiveness of their training, recovery and performance. This used to be looked at not worth taking the time from practice or otherwise. Now we often see players and team required to do some warm-ups and maybe even some warm downs. This is a good start, and also only the tip of the iceberg of what the athletes could be doing given the right body concepts and actions steps.
We must clarify here... yes Repetition is said to be The Mother of Skill and it is true if your Reps are "Skillfully" applied. See, what ever the body (and brain) repeats is trained-in; that goes for good things or not-good things which are repeated. Additionally, much of the gain from training time occurs in the non-training time, the "Recovery-cycle" phase of the Performance-cycle.
When it comes to learning a sport or pursuing a variety of athletic activities, the ratio of skills-training to body-function-awareness and athletic-body-care is in major disproportion. This leaves the youth athlete with the outlook that functional-care for their best performance, recovery and longevity is of low priority in the formula for becoming their best. This webpage will share missing insights and learning to help solve this problem.
We will teach simplified concepts of how the body works and what can be easily implemented to make whole-health gains while training for a sports whether for recreation or to go as far as college athletics and beyond.
Our Top Tools for the Athlete Tool kit together enhance performance and injury-prevention.
